John Kubasiak, MD attended medical school at Feinberg School of medicine and completed his General surgical Residency at the Rush University/Cook County Hospital integrated program. He then went on to his fellowships in surgical critical care and trauma, followed by a fellowship in burn surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center / Parkland Hospital. He then started his career in Boston where he worked at the Burn Unit at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Trauma, Critical Care and Acute Surgery at the affiliate, South Shore Hospital. He then joined Loyola University Medical Center as a surgeon scientist. His current research interest is exploring the stem cell response to traumatic injury in frail and non-frail patients.
