Maureen P. Kohi, MD, FSIR, FAHA is Professor and Chair of the Department of Radiology at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill. Dr. Kohi received her medical degree from New York Medical College with honors and completed her Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). While a resident, Dr. Kohi completed a one-year research fellowship as the recipient of the NIH/NIBIB T32 Training Grant. Following her residency, Dr. Kohi completed a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at UCSF, followed by a second fellowship in Women's Imaging at UCSF. Prior to joining UNC, she served as Associate Professor and Division Chief of Interventional Radiology at UCSF. Dr. Kohi's primary research interest is in the field of women's health and interventions. Her research focuses on evaluating different minimally invasive treatment options for symptomatic uterine fibroids, optimizing the management of patients presenting with morbidly adherent, and evaluating gender differences in vascular and oncologic diseases.
