As the prior site PI for the ATTRACT trial, ACCESS-PTS, and the PERFECT registry, he is involved in national and local research looking into improving outcomes for patients with VTE. His research is also translational, as he received grant funding from the Radiological Society of North America to investigate the physiologic consequences of submassive pulmonary embolism in a porcine model with an eye towards optimizing the safety and efficacy of catheter-directed therapy for submassive PE patients. He received a U34 planning grant from the NIH to plan a pivotal study of catheter-directed therapy for submassive PE.
