Kelsey is a first-generation university student from Alaska, a third-year Ph.D. student in aerospace engineering at the North Carolina State University. He graduated in 2012 with an accelerated master’s degree with previous research focused on tensile blade cycloidal rotors that cemented his professional interests in rotor technologies. He manages the experimental water tunnel in the unsteady fluid mechanics lab beginning his second year of research on a coaxial, hydrokinetic turbine for marine energy extraction; and looks forward to being a part of the development of sustainable marine turbine power.
