Founding member of Black & Veatch’s Growth Accelerator team, whose mission is to accelerate the transformation to sustainable infrastructure. Responsibilities include scouting for new technologies / trends, identification and incubation of new businesses, and evaluating investments in internal and external entrepreneurs. Actively seeking and advancing transformative innovation in COVID-19 response, housing, health/medical, biotech, energy, distributed infrastructure, autonomous vehicles, robotics, remote sensing, climate change, and next gen food and agriculture.
He was previously the Western Region Director and Associate Vice President for Black & Veatch's Energy business focused on advanced, distributed, and renewable energy technologies. He participated in more than 200 renewable energy projects and technologies. He is seen as a leader in the assessment of the technical and economic potential of renewable energy technologies. Over his many years of strategic planning services, Ryan has helped pioneer many new ideas in the renewable industry such as the use of renewable supply curves, renewable energy zones, wholesale distributed generation, high concentration distributed generation, and competitive feed-in tariffs. His clients include leading utilities, government agencies, and public/private intuitions across the world.
Ryan has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University. He is a registered Professional Engineer.
