Project Manager, Strategic Planning
Charles Viemeister is currently Project Manager in the Strategic Planning group focused on Climate Change. He recently completed a vulnerability study and is now embarking on an implementation plan for the company. Charles has been with Con Edison 14 years with ten of those previously managing Steam Services Business Development.
The Climate Change Vulnerability Study entailed assessments of long-range climate science projections covering a suite of climate variables and the potential impacts to the Company’s electric, gas and steam infrastructure. The study was posted on the company website following a press release December 15, 2019. He is presently integrating the findings of the study into all aspects of the Company and determining a governance structure to continue the process as climate change is realized and the climate science makes advances.
Charles has been in the energy field throughout his career. He has been involved with design, construction and maintenance of utility power plants and cogeneration units, demand side management programs, energy service performance contracts, and steam services. He has experience in project management, business development, marketing, communications and most recently strategic planning.
Among highlights of his career, Charles managed international marketing and sales of engineering services in the Pacific Rim, implemented a successful business development program for a startup unregulated energy services company, and re-invigorated the understanding of Con Edison’s steam system as a value-added resource through business development and communication strategies.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from NYU Tandon.
