The PJM and ERCOT markets serve close to 100 million customers that operate under very different market rules for valuing energy. PJM is designed to pay generators for guaranteed capacity in advance, while in ERCOT, generators are paid for the power they provide daily. Which system is best prepared to facilitate the transition to a clean and modern grid? Which system is more effective at accommodating clean energy resources today?
