Efficiency Enhancement of Micro-grids, Boost Converters, and Solar Inverters
Dynamic or average current is normally integrated with system reservoir/bypass/stabilizing capacitors, adding to the overall DC current draw from system batteries and solar cells. Reservoir/Bypass/Stabilizing Capacitors are found at the input and output of Solar Boost Converters, the supply lines and outputs of Solar Inverters, and other solar conversion devices and modules. The CurrentRF CC_100 PO/SSC IP and IC (Power Optimizer/Silicon Super Capacitor) replaces the system reservoir/bypass/stabilizing capacitors, and captures and recycles on average 20% to 30% of the said "thrown away", high frequency dynamic current, reducing battery and solar cell current draw, effectively adding capacity to the battery and solar cell systems, extending battery life and discharge cycles. The CC_100 PO/SSC IP and ICs draw no operational current when in operation, thus creating a high efficiency, high bandwidth, high frequency current recycling unit with amplified dynamic reservoir capacitance capabilities (600x "static" capacitance), that easily replace Solar conversion system capacitors. Replacing system reservoir/bypass/stabilizing capacitors with the CC_100 PO/SSC devices saves up to 36% of the normally bypassed and "thrown away to ground", high frequency currents, creating a condition where the reservoir dc recharging action is reduced in magnitude, thus reduced DC current draw from Solar Cells and batteries. This reduced current draw from Solar Cell arrays and batteries allows smaller solar arrays and batteries for the same loads, or increased loads for the same size Solar Cell arrays and batteries. The CC_100 PO/SSC devices can be retrofitted into existing Solar Conversion Systems and micro-grids and/or included in new designs and products. Thus, the CC_100 PO/SSC devices replace reservoir/bypass/stabilizing capacitors, can be retrofitted into existing designs, increase Solar Conversion System and micro-grid efficiencies, saving power that is normally included in the overhead of Solar Conversion Systems and micro-grids, and if utilized, making the user more competitive in the Solar Energy marketplace.
