Kate Howling brings over five years of experience operating and developing energy storage systems, and over 10 years of engineering experience to her role as Engineering Director for GlidePath. Kate focuses on bringing GlidePath’s 2.1 GW energy storage pipeline to execution by specifying and sourcing equipment and analyzing market opportunities to create the best value. Additionally, Kate brings her operating experience to task at GlidePath by optimizing the company’s 445 MW of operating assets to maximize revenue and balance system health. Prior to GlidePath, she helped secure over 1500MWh of energy storage projects through her leadership focusing on contracting, procurement, and design of energy storage systems. She also managed a portfolio of 70MW of operating energy storage projects, 110MW of operating solar projects, and over 1GW of operating wind projects. Prior to her renewable energy career, Kate worked at an engineering design firm as an electrical consultant for building systems. Realizing her design experience would be strengthened by field work, she switched jobs and moved to New Orleans to rehabilitate houses. After two and a half years in the field, Kate was ready to bring her experience to the renewable industry. She received her degree in Electrical Engineering in 2010 from the University of Virginia.
