Adam Jackson Mitchell, MD, has joined Emory Healthcare and Emory University School of Medicine faculty with board certifications in cardiology and internal medicine.
Dr. Mitchell is a native of Colorado. He graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with an undergraduate degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. He spent two years engaged in human genetics research at the National Institutes of Health before attending medical school at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Minnesota and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Emory University.
Dr. Mitchell is interested in all aspects of general cardiology, including echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He is also interested in hereditary cardiovascular disease and the use of genetic testing to improve outcomes for patients and their family members.
