Dr. Marwan F. Jumean graduated with honors from the University of Jordan School of Medicine in Amman in 2006. He completed his residency in internal medicine followed by his clinical and research fellowships in cardiovascular diseases at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Jumean is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, and nuclear cardiology. An Assistant Professor in the Department of Advanced Heart Failure (ACTAT), Dr. Jumean is dedicated to the educational mission of UTHealth McGovern Medical School. He is currently the program director of the Interventional Heart Failure fellowship and associate program director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology fellowship program. His clinical and research interests include high-risk angioplasty, cardiogenic shock, the use of percutaneous mechanical assist devices in management of cardiogenic shock and acute heart failure, and ventricular assist device therapy complications. He is the director of the Houston Shock Symposium, an annual event that aims at advancing the field of cardiogenic shock diagnosis and management in a true multidisciplinary team approach.
