Khaled Ziada, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is a Professor of Medicine and Gill Foundation Professor of Interventional Cardiology at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. He serves as the Clinical Chief of Cardiology at the Gill Heart & Vascular Institute, as well as the UK Healthcare Enterprise Medical Director of Interventional Services. Dr. Ziada graduated from the Cairo University School of Medicine in Cairo, Egypt. After training in Cairo University Hospitals in medicine and cardiology, he joined the Cleveland Clinic Foundation as a research fellow, where he contributed to the development of a core laboratory dedicated to intravascular ultrasound coronary imaging.. Subsequently, he continued at the Cleveland Clinic as a cardiology and interventional cardiology fellow before joining the faculty at the University of Kentucky Gill Heart & Vascular Institute. Dr. Ziada has been an interventional cardiologist for 20 years and directed the Cardiac Catheterization Lab for 11 years. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to prestigious cardiovascular textbooks in the field of interventional cardiology. He currently serves as the Deputy Editor of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology for Cardiovascular Interventions and is the governor of the Kentucky Chapter of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Ziada's clinical research activity focuses on acute coronary syndrome, antiplatelet therapy, intravascular imaging, interventional procedures and outcomes, peripheral arterial endovascular interventions and carotid disease.
