Dr. Velazquez-Ramirez received completed her General Surgery Residency at Emory University School of Medicine and her Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine and serves as the Program Director for Vascular Surgery Fellowship. Her practice includes a full breadth of open and endovascular procedures and contemporary management and treatment.Her clinical and academic interests include peripheral arterial disease, mesenteric and renovascular disease and abdominal aortic aneurysms and dissections. Her research is also focused on surgical education, leadership and diversity in surgical fields. She has leadership roles on several committees at her institution as well as within regional and national societies. She is a co-investigator for several clinical trials and is a reviewer for three scientific vascular journals.
