Power converters for various applications need to conform to electromagnetic compatibility standards. This is even more critical for applications with wide-bandgap semiconductors or semiconductors with extremely fast current and voltage transition time. In this work, a method to estimate the conducted common-mode emissions using simulations with parasitic elements for a Vienna rectifier is presented. Extremely detailed converter system level simulations with many parasitic elements and detailed switch models can be prohibitively compute intensive. To address this challenge, the EMI estimation is split into two parts, one with detailed switch models, and the other with the critical parasitic path elements. This approach helps reduce simulation time to perform parametric studies with different values for parasitic elements, and to extend the analysis to systems of converters. Experimental pre-compliance measurements from a 2-kW and a 20-kW prototype are also presented.
