LLC resonant converters are popular for point-of-load (POL) DC-DC conversion in different applications due to its soft-switched characteristics, high operating efficiency and reduced EMI noise profile. In complex systems, modular structure is maintained by using POL converters in parallel to feed a high power load. Therefore, it is essential to model the output characteristics of LLC resonant converter, to understand its behavior in a paralleled system. In the paper, a large-signal I-V characteristics and small-signal output impedance are modeled. Subsequently, as an example, the effect of droop control strategy on these characteristics, current distribution and stability are explored. The analyses are supported by time-domain simulation. Hardware results are also presented to validate the proposed models.
