This paper presents a new Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technique for photovoltaic (PV) solar panels. The proposed method eliminates the need for current sensing by injecting higher frequency perturbations and monitoring the behavior of the system. The main idea is to take advantage of the nonlinearity in the I-V curve of the PV panel to find the maximum power point. The proposed method shows promising results for achieving fast MPPT, detecting partial shading and finding the global Maximum Power Point (MPP). The simulation and experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed technique.
