Three-Port Dynamic Voltage Restorer, Power flow, Compensation Controls
A new three-port DVR (TPDVR) with dual DC ports is presented in this paper. As for the TPDVR, partial active power can be transferred within only one power conversion stage, thus increasing the efficiency. Pre-sag control, in-phase control and minimum-energy control, for the new TPDVR are comparatively analyzed. Minimum-energy control strategy is always preferred for a DVR but in-phase control adopted in TPDVR can compensate voltage sags without using DC-DC converter over a wide range of sags. The characteristics of different control strategies for the TPDVR are investigated and verified by the experimental results.
