This paper presents a method for implementing multiple voltage-vector based algorithms used to reduce torque ripple and current distortion in a finite-set model predictive current (FMPC) controlled permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) drive. . It uses a hexagonal co-ordinate system to simplify the location and identification of the virtual vectors created after sub-dividing the control window into N sections, eliminating the need for complex look-up tables. By using deadbeat control approach, it ensures that the number of enumeration in the algorithm is always three thereby reducing computational burden.
