Lethal Leptospirosis: A Preventable Disease
Leptospirosis can be a deadly systemic disease of dogs and humans. In recent years, new diagnostics have been developed, and the safety and efficacy of vaccines have been improved. Vaccination saves lives, as well as the need for costly dialysis treatments. It also reduces the risk of zoonotic transmission. An update on these tests and vaccines will be presented in this session, using contemporary case examples to illustrate.
