WVC 92nd Annual Conference
White Owl Canyon, is a slot canyon located near the edge of Lake Mead where water, flowing over the solid rock, created narrows through the sedimentary rock.
The 2.2-mile moderate hike starts out with a 70-foot descent. Cross through the broad colorful wash and follow a winding path to the left as it climbs up and around a hillside which leads to the mouth of Owl Canyon. Once in the canyon, the steep sides provide a shaded area. Look closely for animal signs, including droppings from birds on the ledges above your head.
Please wear sturdy hiking or walking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses and dress in layers and remember to bring your camera!
