WVC 92nd Annual Conference
With increasing interest in cannabis as a therapeutic agent in human and veterinary medicine, veterinarians are fielding more questions about the use, dosing, and adverse effects of cannabis. The speaker will provide an overview of the history of the use of cannabis for medicinal benefits, the endocannabinoid system in domestic animals, and a discussion of the major cannabinoids and terpenes in cannabis plants. Also shared will be a brief summary of research of interest in people and animals that allows veterinary professionals to expand their clinical knowledge of the use of cannabinoids in veterinary medicine. A discussion of quality control issues and information on the treatment of toxicity in animals will also be included.
