Myofascial Issues: What Is with All the Hype? Myofascial Treatments Including Non-invasive Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy
General Veterinary Technician Session: In the human field, myofascial work is performed to reduce pain, provide improved range of motion and movement. Techniques such as appropriate stretching, massage and exercise techniques may prevent activation of myofascial trigger points. Veterinary patients can benefit from these techniques during recovery from surgery and can be performed by both veterinarians and veterinary technicians. This lecture will provide information based on both evidence based medicine and experience so that you may add a valuable and accessible tool to improve patient pain, function and comfort.
