This course allows participants to gain experience with common small ruminant veterinary procedures such as restraint and handling, physical examination, foot trimming, sample collection, injection sites, and both FAMACHA and body condition scoring. Different methods of disbudding, tail docking, and castration will be presented as well as sedation and local anesthesia recommendations for these procedures. Ultrasound examination of a variety of organs will be conducted on live animals. Capacity: 24. Price: $495.
Transportation: Complimentary shuttle service is provided to and from the Oquendo Center for all hands-on labs. The pickup area is located at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center entrance. Buses depart promptly 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the course.
Dress Code: Please dress comfortably. Scrubs are recommended, additional scrubs are available for use at the Oquendo Center, if needed. Closed-toe shoes are required.
