A four-hour course comprising one hour of lecture followed by three hours of laboratory experience. This is an introductory level laboratory designed to allow participants to familiarize themselves with the equipment necessary for endoscopy and to gain experience in performing upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. Hands-on laboratory experience in upper gastrointestinal examinations using flexible endoscopy will be practiced on anesthetized dogs. A short pre-laboratory lecture will familiarize the attendee with endoscopic equipment, the upper GI endoscopy technique, normal anatomy, and some of the common lesions encountered in the upper GI tract. 4 CE Hours. Transportation: Complimentary shuttle service is provided to and from the Oquendo Center for all hands-on labs. The pickup area is located at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center entrance. Buses depart promptly 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the course.
Dress Code: Please dress comfortably. Scrubs are recommended, additional scrubs are available for use at the Oquendo Center, if needed. Closed-toe shoes are required.
