Feline Extraction Lab & Regional Nerve Blocks
This lab will teach the DVM the proper way to perform extractions in the cat. Led by Dental Specialists of the AVDC, a brief lecture will review surgical technique for single and multiple tooth (quadrant) extractions. Attendees will then be asked to perform those procedures. In addition, discussion on when crown amputations may be performed vs. extraction, and the attendees will practice crown amputation techniques. Finally, attendees will have the opportunity to remove retained tooth roots, which is commonly seen with feline patients. The attendee will learn how to perform regional nerve blocks for any extraction in the feline. 4 CE Hours. Purchase required. Capacity: 30. Price: $495.
Transportation: Complimentary shuttle service is provided to and from the Oquendo Center for all hands-on labs. The pickup area is located at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center entrance. Buses depart promptly 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the course.
Dress Code: Please dress comfortably. Scrubs are recommended, additional scrubs are available for use at the Oquendo Center, if needed. Closed-toe shoes are required.
