It is important to utilize all means to improve quality-of-life at the end-of-life. Some interventions may quickly mitigate distress, so utilizing a critical care technique may prevent a patient from suffering. Some of these techniques are invaluable especially if the family needs more time for decision making or to help the pet die a good hospice assisted death.
