WVC 92nd Annual Conference
A puppy is presented to you with a lameness... this can some times be intimidating to determine if this is just "growing pains" or something more serious. This presentation will cover the basic developmental orthopedic conditions that are seen developing dogs. Specific conditions such as OCD, HOD, panosteitis, craniomandibular osteopathy, retained ulnar cartilaginous core, and Legg-Calve-Perthes disease will be covered. With each of these conditions the clinical presentation along with breed and age distributions will be discussed. The diagnosis and treatment of each condition will also be presented with the goal being the attendee to leave with knowledge of how to recognize diagnose and treat the more common developmental orthopedic problems.
