Carbon Block Technology
Las Vegas, Nevada
Christopher Vizcaino is currently a research scientist with Carbon Block Technology. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in physics from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2009, and his Masters of Science from the University of Colorado in 2016 while working on atmospheric contaminant reduction technology. During both his Bachelors and Master’s Chris was developing novel activated carbon sorbents targeting Mercury emissions from coal fired power plants. Over the course of the past 12 years Chris has conducted numerous joint research efforts with members all across the activated carbon industry (Penn State, Illinois Institute of Technology, Stanford, University of Michigan, DOE, NETL, and EPRI). Chris is a co-inventor on 5 US patents, and has an extensive background in mitigating harmful contaminants from industrial emissions including CO2, Hg, Se, Pb, Chlorine, and As.
