Biographical Outline:
Mr. Olsen has a long and distinguished career in the water treatment industry. Today, he is widely recognized as a leading water technology/business consultant, lecturer, and author. * A graduate of the University of Minnesota, Mr. Olsen has served as General Manager for a leading water treatment equipment manufacturer and is the founder of Midwest Water Engineering, and WaterThinkTank, firms that continue to help clients around the world in the areas of technology/product development, performance verification, & commercialization. * While Mr. Olsen has served as the principle investigator for numerous scientific and evaluative studies in both private and public sectors, he has also served as a marketing and business development consultant to more than 30 corporations, many recognized globally. * He has served as President and Regent for the Minnesota Water Quality Association, and has served as a contributing member and chaired numerous committees and boards for the Water Quality Association, including those related to Educational Services, Professional Certification, Filtration, Ethics, and Science. He also founded and chaired WQA’s Ozone Task Force where his work initiated, and lead to the development of the first comprehensive textbook for the application of ozone for POU, POE, and Small Public Drinking Water Treatment Systems. The WQA acknowledged Mr. Olsen in 1995 with their Award of Merit, for his work toward the advancement of WQA’s Educational Services and Professional Certification program. * Mr. Olsen has served as an expert Advisor to the EPA, published 28 peer-reviewed papers, holds 21 patent claims, and is frequently invited by industry associations and regulatory agencies to conduct lectures pertaining to technical applications, drinking water regulations, and strategic platforms from which to initiate and sustain future business growth and development.
