Computed Hrtfs and Ears Database for Acoustic Research
This paper describes the different stages of creation of the CHEDAR database.
It is comprised of 3D meshes generated from a morphable model of ear, head and torso and their associated diffuse-field equalised HRIRs.
Focused on the influence of ear, it provides over 1253 different ear shapes, making it the largest available HRIR database so far.
The evaluation grids have radii ranging from 20cm to 2m.
The frequency range of the corresponding HRTFs goes from 100Hz to 16kHz by 100Hz steps.
The HRIRs are provided as .sofa files.
The entire database, the largest so far, and unique by the type of gathered data, the number of entries and their resolutions is publicly available for academic purposes.
