Daniel Gonko is an Audio Engineer and Percussionist in the Greater New York area. He earned Bachelor Degrees in Music Theory/Composition and Music Education at Central Michigan University and graduated with his Master of Music from Western Carolina University in Commercial and Electronic Music. Mr. Gonko maintains an active performing career that oscillates between musical theatre, jazz combos, and orchestras. He is the Head Audio Engineer for ACT of CT in Ridgefield, CT where he mixes over 125 performances per seasons, has worked as an audio engineer/designer Off-Broadway, and is the Head Media Engineer for the Aspen Music Festival and School.
Additionally, Mr. Gonko freelances as a recording, mix, and mastering engineer. He has mixed and/or mastered over 700 songs and podcasts including over 40 full albums and 10 E.P.s for artists hailing from many places including North Carolina, New York, Chicago, Texas, Michigan, Colorado, and the Czech Republic. He enjoys utilizing his background in composition coupled with technology to score short films, as well as write music ranging from solo performer to jazz ensemble to full wind ensemble. Most recently, he composed and recorded ~20 minutes of incidental music for a production of Archibald MacLeish’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play “J.B.”
