Alan Pawlak is a research student at the Applied Psychoacoustics Laboratory (APL) of the University of Huddersfield. In 2019 he graduated from Music Technology and Audio Systems at the same University with a first-class honours degree. During his industrial placement year, he worked at Fraunhofer IIS, where he was involved in 3D audio research. Following his graduation, Alan undertook an internship at Zylia, working on Higher Order Ambisonics research. His current research is concerned with the digital signal processing and perceptual optimisation of virtual acoustics. He is also an audio plugin developer at the APL.
