The WavelinQ™ EndoAVF System provides clinicians with a minimally-invasive AVF creation alternative to open surgery. WavelinQ™ EndoAVF System consists of two thin, flexible magnetic catheters which are inserted into adjacent blood vessels (ulnar artery / ulnar vein or the radial artery / radial vein) in the arm under fluoroscopic guidance. A small burst of radiofrequency energy is used to create a channel between the target vessels to create an endovascular fistula. After which the catheters are removed and blood will flow from the artery into the vein, creating an enhanced blood flow that can support hemodialysis. The 4F catheters’ low-profile size enables multiple procedural access options to navigate the devices to the target creation locations, by supporting upper arm access (brachial artery and brachial vein), but also wrist access (radial vein and ulnar vein). The indicated creation areas offer two locations that are not currently used for surgical AV fistula creation, while leaving future standard surgical AV fistula creation options open.
