Debra Kohlman-Trigoboff is an acute care nurse practitioner in Duke Heart and Vascular at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. She has worked for over 14 years in cardiology caring for cardiovascular patients. Prior to moving to Durham, she worked for 13 years in Vascular Surgery at the Washington Hospital Center in D.C. There she was the nurse practitioner and clinical coordinator for the Center for Vascular Disease. She has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiovascular disease and is a certified in vascular nursing. Debra holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of San Diego and a Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland, where she also obtained her NP certificate. She has published numerous articles and participated in research studies involving cardiovascular patients. She remains an active member of the Society for Vascular Nursing and has served as President and a member of the Board of Directors for several years, helped develop Clinical Practice Guidelines, served as an Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) instructor, developed vascular patient education materials and co-developed a vascular certification course. Debra focuses on cardiovascular risk reduction in her current position which blend her experience in vascular surgery with that of cardiology.
