This workshop is intended for anesthesiologists of all skill levels who wish to improve their skills at performing ultrasound-guided interscalene brachial plexus block, as well as fascial plane blocks (transversus abdominis plane (TAP), rectus sheath, quadratus lumborum (QL), pectoralis (PECS I & II, serratus plane block), and erector spinae plane (ESP) blocks), and ultrasound-guided infiltration techniques for knee surgery. The workshop will focus on the effective and safe use of liposomal bupivacaine in regional anesthetic techniques, including proper method of administration, admixing with bupivacaine HCl, appropriate volumes and concentrations of these local anesthetics, and tips and tricks on the perioperative management of patients who undergo these blocks. The format of the interactive workshop will include small participant-to-instructor ratio and a customized curriculum focused on developing hands-on skills. Each technique will be taught by expert instructors using dynamic multimedia presentations, live demonstrations, state of the art 3D virtual cadaver imaging and guided hands-on live model scanning.
