Technician Supervisor & Anesthetist
Nicole Dickerson has been working in the Bay Area as a registered veterinary technician for the last ten years. Before then, she worked as a free-lance Equity stage manager for theatres such as Berkeley Repertory Theatre, American Conservatory Theatre, California Shakespeare Theatre, and Teatro Zinzanni. After volunteering at the SF/SPCA cat claw clipping clinic, she decided to return to school and graduated from Carrington College's veterinary technology program in 2010. It was immediately apparent that veterinary emergency medicine carried with it the same multi-tasking urgency as the stage management world, and that was where Nicole naturally gravitated, earning her VTS in Emergency and Critical Care in 2018. Currently, Nicole is the animal care supervisor at UCSF’s Laboratory Animal Resource Center. She hosts the podcast "Cat Disgusted" and travels to Puerto Rico as a volunteer anesthetist for the Humane Society of the United States’ Spayathon for PRTM.
