Dr. M. Kennedy Hall's research studying healthcare utilization occurs at the intersection of informatics, emergency diagnostic imaging, and value-based care. He has completed a research fellowship as well as a point-of-care ultrasound fellowship studying healthcare utilization and reimbursement of point-of-care ultrasound through the lens of the CMS public use files proposed in this didactic. He honed the ability to leverage these public use files and also recently completed a high-visibility EM workforce analysis studying reimbursement patterns among EM physicians. non-EM physicians, and APPs who are providing emergency care. His current work includes continued analysis of the CMS public use files examining public use files, as well as multiple prospective ultrasound projects research projects examining the role of therapeutic ultrasound funded by NIDDK and NASA.
