University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville
Dr. Melissa Parsons is an Emergency Medicine physician at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville. She received a Bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Florida in Gainesville and attended medical school there as well. Go Gators! Dr. Parsons completed her Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville and stayed on as faculty, serving as the Assistant Medical Director at their community hospital prior to taking on her current role as Assistant Residency Director for the Emergency Medicine residency program at UF-Jacksonville. In addition to her role in academic medicine at the University of Florida, Dr. Parsons and her colleague, Dr. Lexie Mannix have founded SheMD.org - a virtual community for women in medicine that aims to raise awareness about gender disparities in medicine for pre-med, med students, and residents. Her professional interests include physician wellness, infertility in female physicians, gender disparities and medical education.
