Joel Moll, MD is Associate Professor and Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director and Medical Education Fellowship Director at Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition to his interest in graduate medical education, he has been actively involved in areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, and bias in medicine affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals. Dr Moll was previously president of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) Academy for Diversity and Inclusion in Emergency Medicine, and has served as chair-elect of the Emory University Presidential Commission on Sexuality, Gender Diversity, and Queer Equality. He has published on LGBT cultural competency in graduate medical education in peer reviewed journals, and given numerous presentations on LGBT diversity and inclusion, including at Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), SAEM, and Emergency Medicine Council of Residency Directors (CORD).
