Dr. Cooney is a board-certified emergency physician who received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. In 2015, Dr. Cooney transitioned to Geisinger Medical Center where he has served as an Associate Program Director, Program Director, and, most recently, Director of Faculty Development for the healthcare system. Dr. Cooney continues to serve with several national and international organizations, including The International Clinician Educator Network (ICENet), Council of Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine (CORD), the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Academic Life in Emergency Medicine (ALiEM), and MedUtopia.
