Brian Wellins is a senior director of pharmacovigilance (PV) and Regulatory Affairs (RA) at PPD. He leads process improvement initiatives and oversees the intra-departmental tracking of those projects to ensure consistency and completeness in adherence to PPD’s process improvement methodology. He provides strategic direction, leadership and management for PV/RA technology projects and programs within cost, time and quality requirements. Brian is responsible for developing and maintaining the three-year technology roadmap to ensure that the technology is relevant, current and innovative.
Based in Austin, TX, Brian joined PPD in 2007 as a clinical data manager and through a series of opportunities of increased levels of responsibility in the areas of data management, information technology and safety technical operations was promoted to his current senior role in 2015. His therapeutic experience includes the areas of oncology, endocrine/metabolic, nervous system/sense organs and infections/parasitic diseases. He is experienced with studies and results in Phases I-IV. Prior to joining PPD, Brian worked in clinical data management in the aerospace and CRO industries and in biostatistics for the State of Nevada.
Brian holds as Bachelor of Science in statistics with an emphasis in demography from the University of California at Berkley and Master of Business Administration from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
