The industry standard for power performance testing has long been to deploy meteorological towers that match the test turbine’s hub height. Over the past few years there has been mounting interest from developers, OEMs and test agencies to employ remote sensing devices to perform tests. This session will present various perspectives on remote sensing for power performance testing. Each presentation will focus on an aspect of the uncertainty related to these tests – including both ground based and nacelle mounted devices. The panelists will touch on technical uncertainties related to conducting these tests with remote sensing and how that uncertainty relates to business uncertainties.
