"Boro" is a Japanese term that means "tattered cloth" or "rags." Using this technique, pieces are patched together to make larger pieces of useable fabric — the ultimate example of make do and mend. In this workshop, Blair will guide you through creating your own Boro-inspired quilt top. We will pay homage to this time-honored technique from a modern quilting perspective. We'll begin with a base layer of improv patchwork, then add patches and decorative hand stitching, such as sashiko, over the base to enhance and add texture.
