Using solid fabrics as a starter, students will explore the power of strip piecing and experimentation with color gradations, size gradations and alternations of solid fabrics with other fabrics. Working with solids is a great way to really experiment with color without the interference of textures or patterns. Experiment with a series of colors in a family, a series of shades in the same color family, variations in strip sizes, interrupting a series of strips with other colors or patterns, and more. Students will be offered optional pre-class work to maximize in-class productivity for the workshop.
