Modern Loops was inspired by Celtic Knots and the Endless Knot, which is one of the eight auspicious symbols in Buddhism. All these types of loops have no true start or finish and suggest both continuity and interconnectedness. In this quilt, the lines perhaps end but they continue into a different area where the quilting pattern is the same. The continuity is also implied to areas outside the actual quilt.
