This design was inspired by spider webs. I designed a paper piecing template and pieced with a bold two color palette. Deception is named after Sir Walter Scott's quote, "Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!" My original design was a traditional grid but I improved the design by cutting it into an on-point layout. The off cuts were used in the binding, extending the design rather than framing it in.
