The Fortune Teller block started as an exercise to incorporate the shape of my state into a quilt. I simplified the overall shape and tinkered around enough to get to something that reminds me of the paper fortune tellers I made as a child. I love that the final quilt is not overtly Minnesota but the signs are all there once you notice them. Foundation paper pieced and machine quilted.
