I was playing with improv log cabin blocks and I wanted to see how far I could go with modernising a traditional quilt block. By using just black and white fabric the log cabin block structure is hardly visible, beginning and ends are disguised, and a very interesting overall design emerged. I quilted straight lines with three different thread weights and in both black and white to once again play with shape and indistinct lines.
