This quilt design evolved around a somewhat unusual pentagonal tiling. This specific tiling is made from squares and kites, which form all kinds of shapes. When designing my quilt I was thinking of letting the shapes dance on the grid. I wanted energy and movement and I wanted to show off the different shapes that form within this rigid grid. The name is a play on the shapes dancing and dressing up and the name of the tiling (cairo tiling).
