Woven Stories Textiles was travelling around India sourcing fabric. One of her suppliers was lamenting that he needed new markets for his khadi. I loved the vibrancy and imperfections and a textile tradition that has been carried out for generations really speaks to me – possibly as someone who has tenuous roots both personally and culturally. I wanted the quilt to honour the weaving tradition of the fabric, so designed it as a weave structure.
